World Human Rights Awards Announces Nominations


(01/10/16) World Human Rights Award announces nominations for Best Film today in Jakarta. World Human Rights Award is an international film festival who has the purpose to create and facilitate the stage for people who cares about human rights especially including human rights activists and filmmakers.

Here are the nominations:
Before Spring, directed by Ahmed Atef - General, Director
Flamingo, directed by Yu Han - Short Film
For My Children, directed by Stathis Plotas - Documentary Film
Once upon a time, there was a man, directed by Siavash Jamali, Ata Mehrad - Documentary Film
People of Nowhere, directed by Lior Sperandeo - Documentary Film

People of Nowhere tells a story about the heavy struggle of the Syrian refugees to stay alive and survive. Once Upon A Time, There Was A Man a documentary film directed by Siavash Jamali and Ata Mehrad tells a story about how the dreams of a man can fade out disabilities.

Best Film for this festival would be announced on Monday, January 18, 2015 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Dedeh Kurniasih, the chairwoman of People's Creative Council, said that this festival is being held by People�s Creative Council, iHebat International Volunteers, Russian Culture Centre, Care for Children Foundation, World Film Council, and Radio Republic of Indonesia as the media partner and organizer.
