Hundreds of Films Compete in Filmmakers of The Year Film Festival


(11/13/15) Hundreds of Films will compete in Filmmakers Of The Year Film Festival (FOTY). FOTY is an international film festival with strong reputaion. The festival has received hundreds of good films from all over the world this year.

The nominations for Best Film in Filmmakers Of The Year Film Festival (FOTY) are:
Adolfo Perez Esquivel: Rivers of Hope directed by Dawn Engle
Baobabs between Land and Sea directed by Cyrille Cornu
For Sarah's Love (Pour l'amour de Sarah) directed by Kofman Fr�d�ric
Gen A directed by Napat Tangsanga
Powerful Medicine: Simply Magic directed by Kevin Spencer and Mwita ChachaSmoke Filled Lungs directed by Jason Cabell and Asif Akbar
Stolen Path directed by John Banovich
The Guest, directed by Federico Olivetti
Through the Breaking Glass directed by Iv�n Mena Tinoco


Smoked Filled Lungs tells a story about a retired war veteran struggling with a prescription drug addiction and his troubled teenage nephew rediscover life together on a journey to see their grandfather. This film starring actor Jason Cabell and Frankie Faison who rose to fame with his role in The Silence of The Lambs.

Adolfo Perez Esquivel: Rivers of Hope is also nominated. This documentary film tells the story about Latin America over the past eighty years, as seen through the eyes of one man � world famous artist, human rights activist, and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Adolfo Perez Esquivel.

From Spain, Through The Breaking Glass directed by Ivan Mena Tinoco who�s famous as the visual effects artist for the blockbuster film Harry Potter and the Goblet Fire is also among the strong contender for Best Film. Napat Tangsanga�s Gen A a short film from Thailand who�s in May 2015 has its place on Cannes corner is also among the list.

The winner of this festival would be announced in the Awards Ceremony on November 16, 2015 as part of World Tolerance Day celebration. This festival are held with iHebat International Volunteers, The University of Indonesia, Care for Children Foundation, World Film Council, several High Schools and Radio Republic of Indonesia (RRI) as media partner and organiser.
