ANT MAN - Movie Review

By Yan Widjaya

Super Mini Hero

Production : Marvel Studio
Director : Peyton Reed
Main Casts: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Michael Pena, Anthony MacKie, Abby Ryder Fortson
Duration: 116 Minutes

Scott Lang was released from San Quention prison after serving three years for stealing and hacking. He wishes to see his daughter, Cassie, but his ex wife, Maggie, now in a relationship with a police named Paxton. As an ex con, Scott agrees to break into Dr. Hank Pym's strongbox with his old partners; Luis, Dave and Kurt. He only finds a weird costume and when he wears that, he becomes an Ant-Man!

The genius scientist apparently has created this to set Scott up. He trained Scott to become a super hero to fight his former assistant, Darren Cross, who is the super villain Yellow Jacket. Even Hope, Dr. Pym's daughter, in the beginning served Cross as her Boss. With the assistance of his three friends and all the ants under his power, Scott is in action.

The funny character was successfully played by Paul Rudd formerly known as a TV comedian. The well known Michael Douglas becomes Dr. Pym. His daughter is played by Evangeline Lilly. The villain is Corey Stoll.

Director Peyton Reed made this film for all ages, without complicated story, and very entertaining for the whole family. In the epilog (do not leave the studio in a rush), there will be two extra scenes. The first one, Dr. Pym asks his daughter to enter the secret Lab to inherit the WARP special costume. So we can predict, Hope will become the Ant-Woman and she will seek for her mother in the Quantum dimension. In the second scene, Falcon propose to Captain America to invite Ant-Man to join (probably in Captain America: Civil War which will be released in May 2016).*** YaWi
